RQI vs ILT

The American Heart Association offers two methods for medical professionals to receive their American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification card.

RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement)
This course involves taking the American Heart Association online course and then coming in to one of our 28 RQI skills testing centers to practice and get tested using the VAM (voice assisted manikin). Renewing and initial students can take this course. The majority of medical and healthcare professionals prefer this method for the following reasons:

About same price as the traditional instructor led course.
Receive the exact same certification card as the traditional instructor led courses.
Do not have to be in a classroom setting with 15 other students.
The length of the course is shorter for busy medical professionals.
The course is offered daily in over 28 cities in Northern CA.

Instructor Led Training
This course involves the traditional classroom setting where you have 15 students and an instructor in the classroom. During covid, this training method was less popular, but now that mask mandates are slowly lifting, some people prefer this course for these reasons.
Not concerned about being in a classroom setting with other students.
Does not own a computer or smart phone to take the online course.
Not very experienced with using a computer or smart phone.
