Mandatory Precourse Preparedness and Precourse Assessment
PALS Renewal and PALS Initial Students are required to complete the Mandatory Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse Preparedness. This section takes about 3-4 hours to complete. If you are taking the ACLS Heartcode, you do not need to do this.

You must print these out or save to a device and show these two documents to your instructor on the day of the class. If you do not have these, you cannot attend the course.

Starting Feb 1, 2021, PALS Renewal and PALS Initial Students are required to bring to class the new PALS Manual (Copyright 2020, ISBN: 978-1-61669-785-3). The older 2015 book will no longer be valid and will not be accepted.

New CE Credits for CA Nurses
CA Nurses will receive 4 CEs for PALS Renewal and 7 CEs for PALS Initial from the instructor on the day of the class. CA Nurses will also receive CE credits directly from the American Heart Association after they complete the Precourse Work.
