Wilderness/Advanced First-aid Course in Bay Area
We no longer offer Wilderness First-aid courses to individuals. However, if you have a group of 12 or more people to train, we can set up a group class for you.
Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. With ASHI Wilderness First Aid training, first aid providers in a wilderness setting will be better prepared to respond when faced with limited resources, longer times to care for someone, and decisions about when and how fast to evacuate an ill or injured person. This comprehensive 16-hour course exceeds the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, 2017 Edition.
Camp counselors, boy and girl scout troop leaders, backpackers, bikers, hikers, ski patrol, or anyone who participates in outdoor activities when the 911 system is not immediately available. If you are looking for more advanced training, NOLS offers 10 day or 20 day Advanced Wilderness First-aid courses.
Price: $250. The price includes the 149 page Wilderness First-aid Course Manual and the American Safety and Health Institute Wilderness First-aid certification card (valid 2 years). You will receive your certification card on the day of the course.
Course Length:
This is a 2 day course from 9-5 each day. We will have a lunch break. It is the date you see on the calendar, plus the next day.
